Our History

1976
about us where it all began
Founded in 1976, Mills Machine Inc. (MMI) initially served as a general machine shop, catering to the needs of local factories and industries. Originally focused on tooling, MMI gradually evolved into a custom machine design and manufacturing business.
1980's

MMI started working with a label applicator manufacturer, designing and manufacturing custom solutions for the packaging industry. MMI initiated the development of its own label applicators, and the LabelMill product line was born. The first label applicators were DC motor & Stepper motor driven.
1990's

MMI expanded beyond its original facility and relocated to a newer, larger premises. In 1996, the company applied for and was issued the LabelMill trademark.
2000's
about us custom label machines
LabelMill developed a newer and faster line of labelers, using newer brushed servo technology and updated controls, becoming a renowned, robust industrial workhorse. Once again, to keep up with rapidly changing technology, LabelMill developed a newer and faster line of labelers, using newer, brushless servo technology, faster micro-processors, and a remote operator interface. These applicators set a new standard for the applicator industry. LabelMill also released our newest line of fully integrated touch-screen controls and optional Ethernet interface.
2010's
about us custom label machines

A devastating fire struck LabelMill, on June 25th, 2014. Faced with a critical decision, production was relocated to the warehouse and operations resumed within 1-2 weeks through meticulous planning. Undeterred, a new facility was constructed, 50% larger than before. In just 6-1/2 months, the transition was complete, making LabelMill stronger than ever. The new facility enabled LabelMill to expand their workforce and product offerings.

On January 1, 2017, Phillip and Lisa Mills acquired MMI, renaming it MM2, signaling a new chapter in our journey.

2020's
